The SDI Rescue Diver course is one of the most demanding and rewarding courses offered. The course encompasses general first aid and CPR techniques and teaches students how to apply those techniques to a diving related injury.
Students also learn techniques for conducting underwater search and recovery operations, buddy-rescues, recognizing and calming potentially panicked divers, in-water rescue breathing, removing unconscious victims from the water, conducting effective search patterns, and managing accident scenes. The SDI Rescue Diver course also helps to develop skills such as self-rescue and situational awareness that will prevent accidents from happening.
Who this course is for:
- Any certified SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, or equivalent, who wishes to expand their diver knowledge and skill set
- Any certified SDI Advanced Adventure Diver or SDI Advanced Diver who would like to advance in dive training
- Anyone interested in achieving their SDI Master Scuba Diver rating or proceeding on to becoming a dive professional or dive leader
Course prerequisites:
- Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent
- Provide proof of current CPR, first aid certification*
- Provide proof of SDI Advanced Adventure Diver certification, or equivalent, or open water diver certification and 40 logged open water dives
